Alternative rock band Deadeye Dick formed in New Orleans in 1992, and signed with Ichiban Records in 1994. By 1996 the band was already planning their second world tour. Deadeye Dick may be the first band to ever have two gold records for the same song on two different record labels.

Originally signed to Ichiban Records, distributed by Warner Bros, the band were label mates with Vanilla Ice, Tag Team, and many legendary blues acts. The record quickly sold over 500,000 copies and was RIAA certified Gold. Ichibon Records sold the rights to RCA Records for the movie Dumb and Dumber, starring Jim Carey. As the lead single for the soundtrack, the band again sold over 500,000 copies bringing them to Gold status for a second time.

The band has gone on to sell well over 2 million records worldwide.
